About
Born on the south coast of Australia, in the tiny seaside village of Point Lonsdale, I’ve always loved the sea. As a girl, long summers at the beach evoke memories of colour, light and movement. People swimming and surfing, waves, rockpools, seabirds, tiny boats, yachts and shipping. I work on canvas and paper using acrylics, watercolours and gouache. Gallery exhibitions form part of my work together with private commissions and commercial illustration. Travelling through Europe and South-East Asia has expanded my understanding of artistic expression. The French Impressionists and the Fauvist movement are particularly inspirational for me with their lively fresh images of the world around them. I want to convey how I feel about what I see. Bright colours speak clearly and cheerfully to me.
